What does K-value?

The K-value is the parameter with which the heat loss is described by one component. The smaller the K value, the better the insulation. To be precise: The K-value is the amount of heat, that drains off in 1 hour through one square meter of a 1 meter thick layer of material at 1°C temperature difference from the hot to the cold side (see also U-value).
